Sterling Silver Jewelry

Sterling silver turquoise jewelry is generally handmade and worn in the Southwestern United States. Turquoise is simply a beautiful stone. Turquoise is generally a blue-green stone with gentle hues of brown and can be found in a few different places in the world. Turquoise receives its name from the French word for Turkish since most turquoise at the time was exported from Turkey.

An interesting and very true fact is that turquoise wasn’t always considered a color in fact it wasn’t officially recognized as color until 1573. Turquoise is one of earths most beautiful marvels in the whole wide world. Turquoise is a very rare stone and can be considerably valuable if the stone is more than unusual and exquisite. With the oldest evidence dating back to 3000 BC they first discovered turquoise inlayed furniture left by the Egyptians. This is the oldest recorded data confirming some of the world’s first people using turquoise. All throughout history turquoise has been used to protect the wearer from evil or unnatural death it’s to many people considered a good luck charm.

It’s really no wonder why the Westerners are so into sterling silver turquoise jewelry given such a charming past. Sterling silver turquoise jewelry can be quite expensive depending on where you purchase. Many designers have sterling silver turquoise and jewelry lines exclusively and only deal with sterling silver and turquoise jewelry. Just like any market for anything market value for silver varies and so does the value of turquoise amongst dealers and customers. There are many places in Arizona, Nevada, California and even Utah that have some beautiful turquoise stores that only sell Native American sterling silver turquoise jewelry. The basis for making handmade sterling silver turquoise jewelry hasn’t changed

since the 19th century. Turquoise the mineral is formed through a process of a chemical reaction which happens when h2o containing very specific minerals like aluminum and copper leak through a rock. During this occurrence it forms in veins, which later turn into a nice clump of turquoise. Turquoise is largely found in the American SW. In fact turquoise has been so synonymous with the South West that during early civilization tribes like the Aztecs used turquoise in there masks during ceremonies and rituals. From Mexico to what is now referred to as the American South West sterling silver turquoise jewelry has been cherished and protected for generations.

This dealer was beyond excellent in all respects! No low-ball games, no fooling around. These people are honest, and the transaction was handled smoothly with complete transparency. I will definitely recommend Nevada Coin & Jewelry to everybody I know!

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to meet the owner and team at Nevada Coin and Jewelry. I didn’t know what to expect but they made me feel both comfortable and safe. I went through my collection of jewelry, both broken pieces and things I thought were of no value at all. They took the time to explain what each carat weight was worth and they helped me sort through my items. I was amazed at what they gave me for things I would never wear or use. I would recommend you stop in and speak to them, you might be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Great family run store. I’m well taken care of every time I show up at this location. Thank you Nick.

Wonderful experience, Nick and Laura made it seamless and stress free. Thank you! They also sell super cool items!!

My Aunt recently passed and she lived in the outskirts of Las Vegas. While my sister and I went through her estate we found a number of items that neither of us considered keeping, but our aunt was clear in her will that she wanted us to use her things to make a profit and in turn use that money to help our futures. We shopped around, especially not being from the area, and got a lot of negative experiences just on the phone. People were rude, uninformative, and really just gave us a feeling they wanted to rip us off. It made us think of those dirty pawn shops you “hear about”. Finally I called Nevada Coin and Jewelry and the whole day shifted! We described a few pieces of jewelry and they helped us figure out initially a general value based on the metal. Of course, they did explain the importance of actually coming in and examining the pieces individually. That level of service over the phone got us through the door. When we went to the spot we were greeted with the same level courtesy, but the professionalism when going over each item and it’s value was through the roof! They took the time to explain why each item was worth what amount and even gave us a little bit of history on the styles. At the end of the day, my sister and I walked away with a sizable amount of money to put towards my son’s college fund and my sister’s vet school. Thanks, Nevada Coin and Jewelry!

Grateful for the Nevada Coin and Jewelry shop, I just adore it. I took some collectable figurines in and they bought them. I came out smelling like a rose. You should’ve been there to see the big smile on my face. I ran all the way home to look for some more. Can’t wait to get back! I can sure use the money!

The staff are quick at work but not too quick to make you feel pressured into buying items or selling your items. They teach you about the items and tell you if they have use for your items or not. If they don’t have use for your items they call other places to see if they have a use for the items. Great staff!

We were really pleased with the help that AJ gave us concering our gold coins and watches. I don’t think we could have received a better deal anywhere. All of the personnel at Nevada Coin & Jewelry were very professional. We will recommend them to our friends.

As a first timer in selling, I was a bit apprehensive. I did not know what to expect and was a little worried about a previous reviewers comments. Yes the office was stark and clinical. The staff however, more than made up for any downfall in the decor. Very helpful, polite and understanding to any ‘silly’ questions that were asked. All in all a pleasant experience, and one that should the opportunity arise I would go through again!

A.J. and Robert are so friendly and make it so you have the best deal with the items you bring them. They have so much knowledge about all the items they have in their shop and they like to teach others about what they know…

What inspired me to go to NV Coin and Jewelry was I was an ad on the TV for the shop. I was not too sure about going to NV Coin and Jewelry to sell my jewelry because I have been to many other pawn shops but haven’t found a good deal for my jewelry. After I went to Nevada Coin and Jewelry it was a big relief for me selling my jewelry for a good price.
