Platinum Coins

Platinum coins are highly coveted and sought after by investors and coin collectors, alike. Most people would assume that platinum coins are a relatively new phenomenon in the investment and numismatic coin world. On the contrary, platinum coins have a storied past spanning the past few hundred years, since Spanish colonialism in America began. Platinum coins have also been a long time favorite of Russia, especially during the imperial times prior to the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. At one point in history, platinum was used by counterfeiters in the making of counterfeit coins to replace silver, which was considerably more expensive at the time.

And at other times, platinum was introduced to foreign government issue gold coins to reduce the gold content in the coins, thereby saving governments money. Today, as most of us know, platinum is far more valuable than silver and often trades at or higher than the price of gold. Platinum coins in America came about in 1997 after the huge successes of the American Gold and Silver Eagle releases and the the success of platinum coins coming from our neighbors to the north in Canada. Platinum coins made in the American Platinum Eagle series come in four different denominations: the 10 dollar Platinum American Eagle, the 25 dollar Platinum American Eagle, the 50 dollar Platinum American Eagle and the 100 dollar Platinum American Eagle.

There are also platinum coins made as commemoratives within the United States. These platinum coins tend to keep a low profile in the numismatic world but still carry significant value to to their precious metal content. All platinum coins made at United States mints are pure bullion platinum and there has never been any platinum coins made in America that were meant for circulation. Platinum coins are perfect for any investment package and can compliment any numismatic collection.

Great family run store. I’m well taken care of every time I show up at this location. Thank you Nick.

As a first timer in selling, I was a bit apprehensive. I did not know what to expect and was a little worried about a previous reviewers comments. Yes the office was stark and clinical. The staff however, more than made up for any downfall in the decor. Very helpful, polite and understanding to any ‘silly’ questions that were asked. All in all a pleasant experience, and one that should the opportunity arise I would go through again!

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to meet the owner and team at Nevada Coin and Jewelry. I didn’t know what to expect but they made me feel both comfortable and safe. I went through my collection of jewelry, both broken pieces and things I thought were of no value at all. They took the time to explain what each carat weight was worth and they helped me sort through my items. I was amazed at what they gave me for things I would never wear or use. I would recommend you stop in and speak to them, you might be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Always a good experience here! Definitely the place in town I enjoy buying coins from, and I’d recommend them to anybody. Helpful staff, reasonable prices, and wide selection.

A great selection of coins and other numismatic related material. Very professional.

My Aunt recently passed and she lived in the outskirts of Las Vegas. While my sister and I went through her estate we found a number of items that neither of us considered keeping, but our aunt was clear in her will that she wanted us to use her things to make a profit and in turn use that money to help our futures. We shopped around, especially not being from the area, and got a lot of negative experiences just on the phone. People were rude, uninformative, and really just gave us a feeling they wanted to rip us off. It made us think of those dirty pawn shops you “hear about”. Finally I called Nevada Coin and Jewelry and the whole day shifted! We described a few pieces of jewelry and they helped us figure out initially a general value based on the metal. Of course, they did explain the importance of actually coming in and examining the pieces individually. That level of service over the phone got us through the door. When we went to the spot we were greeted with the same level courtesy, but the professionalism when going over each item and it’s value was through the roof! They took the time to explain why each item was worth what amount and even gave us a little bit of history on the styles. At the end of the day, my sister and I walked away with a sizable amount of money to put towards my son’s college fund and my sister’s vet school. Thanks, Nevada Coin and Jewelry!

What friendly staff. They help you sell your items even if they don’t have a use for it by calling other shops around the area to see if they could use it… They want you to have the best out come from selling your items. I was so happy I decided to go to them!

Grateful for the Nevada Coin and Jewelry shop, I just adore it. I took some collectable figurines in and they bought them. I came out smelling like a rose. You should’ve been there to see the big smile on my face. I ran all the way home to look for some more. Can’t wait to get back! I can sure use the money!

What inspired me to go to NV Coin and Jewelry was I was an ad on the TV for the shop. I was not too sure about going to NV Coin and Jewelry to sell my jewelry because I have been to many other pawn shops but haven’t found a good deal for my jewelry. After I went to Nevada Coin and Jewelry it was a big relief for me selling my jewelry for a good price.

My wife cashed in some coins and we got top dollar. We have sold to others before but no more, we found a real professional store in Nevada Coin & Jewelry. “Thank You”

I recently got divorced so I wanted to get rid of some of the jewelry my ex-husband got me. I found Nevada Coin and jewelry searching the web. When I called the guy that answered the phone was friendly and willing to quote me a price per gram. I went to their store on Flamingo, Avery whom I spoke to on the phone tested my items using some kind of x-ray machine. I could see that some of my jewelry was not the karat I thought (some lower some higher). He paid what he quoted on the phone no bait and switch. It took less than 15 minutes got my cash and got rid of some bad memories. I would recommend this company if you are looking to sell jewelry.

Been living in Vegas for many years and never had to sell or hock any of my items unfortunately as luck would have it that day did eventually find me and let me tell you is it a tough racket to find a decent place out here to do business with. Pawn shops are a joke and could care less about their customers and treated me like another number. Tried and tried and place after place the numbers where all over the place. Finally decided to go to these guys and I’m glad I did. They tested each piece of my jewelry right in from of me with some kind of xray machine. They explained how they calculated the price and paid me cash on the spot. Avery was very helpful and didn’t mind answering my questions and explaining what they do. I left feeling I got the best price for my items. I would recommend them to anyone looking to sell their jewelry.
